Safeguarding at St John's

 

Safeguarding is very important to us at St. John's Angell Town School to ensure that our pupils are safe and healthy.  Safeguarding includes a wide range of policies and practices to keep children safe from harm; safer recruitment, child protection; bullying; poor behaviour; risk assessments, educational visits, medication management, etc.

Prevent

Prevent is a government strategy to stop people from engaging in terrorist activities or supporting terrorist or extremist causes.

The Prevent strategy covers all types of terrorism and extremism, including the extreme right-wing, violent Islamist groups and other causes.

The government have launched a new website called www.educateagainsthate.com, which contains resources and advice for pupils and parents about dealing with the issues of radicalisation and extremism in line with the new ‘Prevent’ duty for schools.  Click on the website address above to visit the website.
