What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to schools to support specific groups of children who may be vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include children who are entitled to free school meals; those who are looked after by the Local Authority and children of armed service personnel.

The number of pupils entitled to Free School Meals at St John's is 53%, significantly higher than the national average of 26.6%. The number of pupils identified as School Action Plus or SEND statement (12% ) is significantly above the national average of 7.7%.

  During the academic year 2017/18 Pupil Premium will be used to:
  Facilitate pupils access to education
  Facilitate pupils access to the curriculum
  Alternative support and intervention within the school
